Payday
All staff and faculty are paid biweekly or every other Friday via direct deposit. Normally, pay will not be distributed prior to the authorized payday. In the event that a regularly scheduled payday falls on a holiday, payday will be the day before the holiday.
Direct Deposit
The Federal government has granted some states, including Louisiana, to allow its employers to mandate the use of direct deposit for paying its employees. To ensure receiving your pay timely and especially during emergency situations (i.e., hurricanes, emergency closures, etc.), Loyola University requires the use of direct deposit for all faculty and staff on payroll. Direct deposit is safe, secure, convenient and economic for all parties concerned.
Employee Web Services (EWS)
In an effort to conserve the environment, Loyola has implemented electronic pay stubs via Employee Web Services (EWS). EWS is a portal accessible via Loyola’s secured website with the use of an official Loyola ID and PIN which is set by the employee. Once logged into the site, employees may view their pay, Form W-2 or tax set-up as well as change their address and emergency contacts online.
Procedure
While all faculty and staff are required to enroll in direct deposit, a prenote (or test) may be performed when direct deposit requests are received without supporting documentation. This process may generate a paper payroll check.
Paychecks, if any, will be distributed via campus mail on payday. Paychecks should not be held in a department longer than three (3) working days. If a check has not been claimed, it should be returned to the Department of Human Resources. If a check is distributed to an incorrect department, that check should be returned to the Department of Human Resources immediately.
Direct deposit is available through your bank on the day before payday. All payroll information is viewable on payday through Employee Web Services (EWS). Use your ID and PIN to gain access.
